Hello from chilly Northern California. Get out the gloves and scarf. Wear a cap or hat if possible.
Other than that we will have a comet on New Year’s Eve albeit faintly visible and you’ll need binoculars or a scope for viewing. Comet 45P/Honda-Mrkos-Pajdušáková is not to well-known to us however, worth a look. Scan the western sky for a view. Use the moon as your marker and look to the left and slight upwards.
As always, right now the winter sky (where no storm is blocking it) is bright and beautiful. AWESOME to behold.
